Scholarship America also played a major role in the creation of the September 11 Scholarship Alliance, formed by leading scholarship providers and associated organizations to simplify the scholarship application process for post-secondary education for the families of victims. The Alliance served as an information clearinghouse to help ensure that financial assistance for post-high school education, such as college, university and vocational-technical schools, got into the hands of those who need it most with minimal paperwork and frustration; Alliance members identified Scholarship America as the primary repository for all registration information on eligible family members.
