We are currently building a comprehensive library of resources for families affected by 9/11; in addition, Scholarship America has compiled a wide variety of tools for scholarship seekers and their families. The Student and Parent Resource Center on ScholarshipAmerica.org covers everything from college selection to application tips to college success; start there for help every step of the way.
In addition, Scholarship America writes a weekly blog, The Scholarship Coach, which appears weekly at USNews.com and features expert advice on all kinds of scholarship issues. To take advantage of this free resource, you can bookmark the Scholarship Coach, follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook for updates. You can also download free Scholarship Coach e-books below!
To date, there are seven volumes of the Scholarship Coach e-book, each collecting nearly 60 pages of valuable tips for high school, college and graduate students and parents. There's advice on scholarships for everything from accounting to zoology and more, in an easy-to-share PDF. Get your copy of the latest volume here!
"The Families of Freedom Scholarship sustains the memories of all those lost or suffering due to 9/11. It is so humbling that donors, who are seemingly strangers, can show such kindness and compassion. Scholarship America gives me strength and hope for a better future."
The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund benefits financially needy dependent children, spouses, and domestic partners of 9/11 victims. If you are eligible to receive assistance, you'll need to complete a one-time registration; after that, you will need to submit an application each year.
Use the "Planning Ahead" Estimated Award Calculator to stimate what the family is expected to contribute to the student's college expenses, and the amount that may be awarded to you for the upcoming academic year.
