Donor Spotlight: FCA Foundation

June 1, 2018

Immediately following the attacks of 9/11, the FCA Foundation (formerly the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund) stepped up to the plate and supported the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. They knew their $10 million donation would support the educational aspirations of thousands of children impacted by 9/11.

Their generosity has enabled our Fund to support 4,300 students as of today, and the FCA Foundation remains steadfast in its support. The FCA Foundation is the charitable arm of North American automaker FCA US LLC, a member of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA) family of companies.

The FCA Foundation invests in U.S. charitable organizations and initiatives that help empower people, build strong, resilient communities and generate meaningful and measurable societal impacts. In support of these objectives, the FCA Foundation focuses on four essential pillars: youth development, support for military, veterans and their families, community service, as well as education.

FCA Foundation’s Focus on Education

Despite name and ownership changes, supporting education in the communities in which FCA US and its employees live, work and do business has remained one of the FCA Foundation’s primary missions.

“At FCA, we believe that education is an essential element in creating strong and sustainable communities,” said Shane Karr, Head of External Affairs, FCA – North America and President, FCA Foundation. “Our grants will help students overcome obstacles, improve academic performance and gain practical skills that will help them succeed and mature into resilient, responsible members of the community.”

Many of these collaborations focus on helping students (K-12) build the skills and competencies that support academic achievement, with a specific focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.

Improving education levels helps not only the current generation, but also lifts future generations as well for a continued positive effect.

We are forever grateful for the FCA Foundation’s continuing generosity.
